Simon Pasini
Simon Pasini was born in Genoa in 1976. In 1984 he moved with his family to South Africa where he began his artistic studies and began to cultivate a passion for painting and art.
He was first drawn to watercolor, a technique used by his grandfather the architect Van Teefelen, from which he drew inspiration by observing his projects and paintings. His first watercolors are characterized by the attention to detail and the use of light with dramatic cuts.
Back in Italy in 1992 he attended the "Giacomo e Pio Manzù" State Art School in Bergamo.

After his studies, he initially worked as a restorer, then specialized in fresco painting, focusing in particular on decoration.
With the fresco he created numerous paintings and pictorial cycles for public and private commissions in Italy, America, Arabia, China and Japan.
The years of decoration are important for Pasini for learning techniques and materials, and especially for the ability to relate to an ever-changing spatiality.
Curiosity and continuous research led him to experiment with different materials and techniques, including digital painting.
In recent years he has focused on paintings made with oil paint, with which he researches and studies the landscape and the portrait. But it is the scenes from everyday life that are his main source of inspiration.
He prefers this technique because it allows him to better understand the relationship between man and his environment.

What he tries to express with painting is that we are one with what surrounds us 'nature and things interpenetrate each other and constantly create new balances and situations. †

His painting is made of gestures, “...I would like to express a feeling with a gesture, a gesture is equal to a note; if I had to compare my work to a book, I would imagine it as one of those who use a few words and then let their imaginations run wild to create the context..." So exciting gestures, who don't intend move towards hyperrealism, but rather towards abstraction ... the space between the brushstrokes is sought and desired as a place where the atmosphere of the painting ideally resides.
In recent years he has participated in numerous personal and collective exhibitions, mainly in Italy and Northern Europe.
