Petra Hartman
Petra Hartman (1960) attended the ArtEZ Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Arnhem. Petra paints large colorful canvases full of flowers. Color and movement, exuberance and a direct striking hand of painting, characterize her style. She finds the inspiration right around her. Living on the Rhine she works on paintings, sculptures, makes object bags and jewellery. She has already gained great fame for this. Hartman herself says about her work: 'Coincidence is my greatest friend', giving ample scope to spontaneity.

She is also known for her special accessories such as necklaces, bracelets, brooches, handbags and hats. Hartman's jewelry, and this also applies to her vases and other utensils, are idiosyncratic appearances with intriguing shapes. If the viewer looks closely, it will be noticeable that her work is full of symbolism and frequently refers to the classics in painting.

The work of Petra Hartman is represented in various National museums, including the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Centraal Museum Utrecht, the Municipal Museum of The Hague and the Museum of Modern Art Arnhem. Her work can also be found in extensive corporate collections such as the Peter Stuyvesant, Rabobank and Akzo Nobel Collection.
