Geert Lemmers was born and raised in the mysterious Land of Maas and Waal. He still remembers the fairytale stories of his childhood about witches and secret societies. Undoubtedly, these stories shaped him into the artist and person he is today. Almost all of his work is about the person behind a polished facade in the middle of the chaotic world in which we live. In his images he investigates the rough sides of our lives, presented as fairy tales in a fairytale world as an enlargement of our own life. Magnified characters in chaos, beauty and [im]perfection. After his photography training he worked freelance for many years for magazines and fashion [photography]. Due to the advancing digital revolution and a lifelong passion for art and design, which came in handy in fashion photography in particular, he started making his own art after the arrival of photoshop, for example, which was immediately well received. In 2008 he won the art prize for professionals. From that time on he is only concerned with his artwork. His work is almost always project-related. After a preliminary investigation, photography and building up the works layer by layer follow. In practice he uses several intermediate solutions and possible new designs for his final artworks.
