Fritz Paulsen
Christian Theodor Friedrich "Fritz" Paulsen (born May 31, 1838 in Schwerin , † February 22, 1898 in Berlin ) was a German genre and portrait painter.

Paulsen studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy in 1859 and 1860 . There Andreas and Karl Müller , Heinrich Mücke and Karl Ferdinand Sohn were his teachers. In 1868 he became a student under Carl Theodor von Pilotyin Munich. After completing his studies, he stayed temporarily in Paris and London, where he mainly made portraits. From 1871 until his death Paulsen lived and worked in Berlin, where he was represented with his pictures in almost all important exhibitions and was very popular. Individual commissioned work took him temporarily to Constantinople, Breslau, Hamburg and Hanover. He was a professor and lived at Dorotheenstrasse 83 in 1886.
