Tom Milligan (Maori)
Before settling in the northern islands, the Maoris first had to brave the ocean that separated the southern island from the northern island. They did this at the time with handmade canoes and paddles.

The "Glass Paddle" by Tom Milligan is a work of art based on these handmade paddles. The blade of the paddle is made of glass and is worked with the tooth of the white tip shark. The wood used is driftwood from New Zealand beach.
