Galerie des Amis is a gallery born out of love and passion for art. After years of collecting, it started to itch more and more to start a gallery in the old fortress of Woudrichem. At the end of 2014, this dream gradually took shape, thanks to the location of the building at Landpoortstraat 1. A beautiful location, in the shadow of the 34 meter high, monumental Martinuskerk, which has defined the image of the fortress since the 15th century. After a thorough renovation, Galerie des Amis saw the light of day on 1 May 2015.
Art is for everyone
In our view, art is not an elitist activity. Art is intended for the general public. We try to pursue this idea by offering a varied collection, for every pocket. The threshold to come and take a look at our gallery is also very low. Everyone is welcome; Art connoisseur or not, be inspired and surprised by the colorful collection.
Restore artworks
A work of art that has been gathering dust in someone's attic for years is a shame. That's not what the work is for. We always try to find these 'forgotten works', have them restored where necessary and possibly provide them with a new frame. Then we look for the right buyer. In this way the artwork is done justice again. It then serves the purpose for which it was once made; To move and inspire people.
PRICES
We are convinced that we can offer our artworks at a good and very competitive price due to a sharp purchasing policy and sound business management. If, after viewing the webshop or a visit to our gallery, you have made the decision to go for that beautiful painting or that colorful screen print by that one fascinating artist, then it doesn't stop there as far as we're concerned. If the list in which the work is included is not to your taste, we have a very expert party who will put a suitable list around it for you. We do this at cost price and it is therefore extra beneficial for you.
The works of art that you buy from us fall under the margin scheme. That is why you will not find any VAT on your invoice.
VIEWING
Have you seen a work in the webshop that makes your heart beat faster and do you want to come and see it in reality? Then don't take any risk and call or email us for an appointment. We reserve the work for you, so you can certainly not miss out. If you still want some time to think about it, we will give you an option for a specific time. Everything completely without obligation.
